National Wesleyan Leadership Conference

A Return to Wesleyan Roots

From January 4–12, 2025, individuals from across Benin, Togo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Côte d'Ivoire, and more gathered at the St. Charles Lwanga Pastoral Center in Porto-Novo for the National Seminar: Retour à la Source Wesleyenne.

Participants—diverse in background but united in purpose—explored the historical and practical significance of the Wesleyan movement within Protestantism. They examined how the movement responded to resistance, how its core values shaped communities, and how its structure—built on doctrine, discipline, and purpose—offered a sustainable model for growth and engagement.

Facilitated by respected leaders from West Africa, the U.S., and Ghana, the seminar balanced theory with practice. Workshops included:

  • Embrace Method of Community Engagement – Rev. Dr. Kimberly Reisman

  • Wesleyan Discipleship through Classes and Bands – Rev. Brian Yeich, PhD

  • Community Development with the Shalom Framework – Rev. Dr. Michel Christensen

  • Leadership Training – Rev. Dr. Sègbégnon Mathieu Gnonhosseou

The closing ceremony on January 12 at Temple Béthel de Dowa, Porto-Novo, celebrated the journey and looked ahead to future impact.

Special thanks to all attendees and facilitators, and to the partners who made this possible: #MMEC #LaSentinelle #RLR #WME #AFTE.

Ready to lead. Ready to serve. Ready to make a difference.
